Start the morning exploring the Capes most Historic wine estates.

 

First stop is Groot Constantia. Home of Grand Constance South Africa’s Oldest Wine. During your visit, browse the beautiful gardens surrounded by vineyards, visit the wine museum, Cape Dutch builds of white and green, view colourful art collections by local African painters and most importantly get a taste of Groot Constantia's iconic beloved wines.

 

Next head to Klein Constantia, the oldest wine farm in South Africa, established in 1685 by the VOC Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel. Klein Constantia is tucked away deep into the valley, step out into a time capsule of South African earliest wine days between the ancient trees on the upper foothills of the Constantiaberg. Sip on wines and taste the world-famous “VIN DE CONSTANCE” loved by Napoleon Bonaparte and celebrities alike and voted the best sweet wine in the world.

 

Lunch is at The Conservatory, guests may expect an eclectic, light and abundant menu, featuring uncomplicated yet perfectly executed food served in the most idyllic garden setting. Be transported to foodie paradise as this restaurant is no shy newcomer to placing among the top 10 best South African restaurants annually.

 

End the day overlooking sweeping panoramic views of the  Constantia wine valley at my favourite Constantia winery; Constantia Glen. This Boutique winery is known for its outstanding South African, Bordeaux style wines.
