Celebrate international Cabernet Sauvignon day with Glenelly

CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL CABERNET SAUVIGNON DAY ON 29 TH AUGUST 2019

WITH GLENELLY’S GLASS COLLECTION CABERNET

Known as the ‘King of Red Grapes’, Cabernet Sauvignon is the world’s most famous and most loved red wine variety, producing wines with complex aromas and an abundance of gorgeous concentrated flavours including blackberries, crème de cassis, black cherries, coffee, chocolate, mint, cedar wood, cigar box and more….

Glenelly invites you to celebrate #CabernetDay on Thursday 29 th August exploring the delights of their 2016 Glass Collection Cabernet Sauvignon.

Glenelly’s highly acclaimed Glass Collection Cabernet Sauvignon displays all the characteristics one expects from a Simonsberg Cabernet. It abounds with fresh, ripe black currants and cherries interwoven with layers of mint, roasted coffee beans and classic cigar box notes, a subtle mélange of rolled tobacco leaves and cedar wood aromas. Naturally fermented and matured in French oak for 12 months, this wine is elegant and pure, with a great concentration of fruit on the palate perfectly supported by well-integrated wood and fine tannins. An excellent combination of power and finesse, a long, complex finish rounds this wine off in fine style.

Classically styled yet exhibiting prominent fruit flavours Glenelly’s Glass Collection Cabernet is stylishly packaged with its wide array of enticing aromas uniquely illustrated on the back label. Sophisticated yet approachable, the Glenelly Glass Collection Cabernet is also affordable, providing plenty of panache for the price. The Glass Collection Cabernet Sauvignon retails nationally between R105 and R115.

The Glass Collection range, which also includes an Unoaked Chardonnay, a Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc, pays tribute to Glenelly’s Grande Dame, Madame de Lencquesaing’s life-long passion for glass and the many attributes beautiful glass shares with fine wine. Both are simple and inexpensive in origin and produced from the poorest soils. Both need heat to come to life and require the intervention of man to be moulded into something of value, beauty and refinement. And, when combined, fine wine and elegant glass perfectly complement one another.

Both these forms of art are on display at Glenelly Estate, with the cellar also home to Madame’s extensive glass collection, one the largest privately-owned collections in the world.
