One my favourite cocktails to make at home is a month puckering Gin Sour, here is a recipe of my very own that's easy to make and perfect for a lazy afternoon when you want something with a naughty kick rather than your classic high tea affair, yawn!
Okay, let's not beat around the lemon bush...time to get day drunk.
Rooibos Lemon Tea Gin Sour
2 Shots of Caspyn West Coast Dry Gin
25ml of fresh lemon juice
15-20ml of lemon tea simple syrup (depending on your sweet to sour preference)
1 egg white
A dash of Mutiny Fynbos Bitters
Lemon tea simple syrup
half a cup white sugar
half a cup water
1 lemon tea bag
In a pot dissolve the sugar and water, when almost boiling remove from stove and add tea bag.
Remove the tea bag after 15min and place your simple syrup in fridge to get cold. Once your syrup is no longer warm it's time to make your Gin Sour.
Method
Fill a cocktail shaker with 6 ice blocks, add 2 shots of Caspyn Gin, lemon juice, egg white, lemon tea simple syrup and dash of fynbos Mutiny bitters.
Close the shaker and shake until shaker becomes too cold to hold.
Pour into a martini glass and garish with one rooibos tea bag and a lemon star (use star cookie cutter and lemon peel to make this garnish).
Hope you enjoy, please leave a comment!
